Black metal body (no silver). Green 'AE' markings. Plastic focus grip. This, Tokina manufactured version replaced the budget 'Hexar' (3rd party) version. It reduced the length (18%) and the weight substantially (36%), whilst adding some complexity to the optical formula. The specific lens used in this test was manufactured in May of 1979 (code: 9S).
